Why We Built This
This service originated from an incident that occurred at my property in Roscommon. It may possibly be the first fully automated Cottage in Ireland. We are not aware of any other one.
I was in the process of restoring an old cottage I have bought and sorting out the utilities when I found out, purely by chance, that my water pump wasn’t just supplying my house… but also servicing three separate farms. For years! No one had told me, and it wasn’t being monitored. No one knew who was using what, or what would happen if the pump failed. yet i was paying the bill for the electric
So, I did what I know best: I automated it.
I added remote pump control, shut-off valves, water usage metering, a camera on the pump, leak detection, and an alert system if anything goes wrong. Now everyone’s happy, the costs are shared fairly, and I can monitor the whole thing from my phone even when I’m travelling around Europe for work.
That experience made me realise: this isn’t just a one-off problem. Loads of people in rural Ireland are dealing with the same kind of headaches.
